Woodmont Day Camp is a camp where each child will feel the warmth and comfort of home. Your child will experience a dynamic program in an environment fostering growth and independence. Our breath-taking waterfall welcomes you to our 50 acres of beautiful woodlands, streams, trails and open space. Woodmont offers campers an unforgettable camp experience in a country setting unrivaled in its natural surroundings.
The relationships that children form with each other and with our staff provide the foundation for the Woodmont experience. It is through these relationships that they can learn about themselves and others.
Sending a child to camp is a tremendous act of faith by parents. At Woodmont, we take that responsibility very seriously and maintain an environment that encourages both safety and health and reinforces a positive self-image. We aim to provide campers with opportunities for emotional and physical growth, encourage their natural abilities and instill in them the benefits of participating in a group. Our ultimate goal is to provide an enjoyable, exciting summer experience that motivates our campers to approach the future with courage, confidence and a feeling of self-worth.
We create a warm, family feeling at Woodmont in a number of ways. We encourage continuous skill development throughout the summer; stress personal development no matter what the inherent ability of a camper may be; and lastly, work to create an atmosphere of attention and care for the individual. Transportation
Door-to-door, round-trip transportation is provided for each camper. Camp begins as soon as your child steps onto the bus in the morning and ends when he or she gets off the bus at the end of the day.
Our modern fleet of air-conditioned school buses and vans is meticulously maintained. All are equipped with emergency communication devices and seatbelts. Prior to the start of camp all bus routes are personally driven by our Transportation Director to ensure the safest, shortest and most efficient route possible.
Our drivers are thoroughly trained and are accompanied by hand-picked bus counselors.We follow guidelines and training practices that exceed those of the New York State Department of Transportation. Every one of our drivers is certified with a Commercial Driver’s License and each receives additional training at camp by a member of our own staff who is a driver-trainer.
